Ben Settle

BenSettleBen Settle

Ben Settle is living every writer’s dream. He writes a little direct response ad copy every morning – which is more than enough to pay the bills – and then he goes and plays. In his other life, among other things, Ben is a novelist and author of “Vampire Apocalypse” and “Zombie Cop.”

Ben’s one of my favorite people to talk with about copywriting and marketing. He’s also the author of one of my all-time favorite books on copywriting: “The Copywriting Grab Bag” (which last time I looked sells for $127.43 and up on Amazon.)

On this call, Ben dropped the name of a book that you absolutely must have if you’re a copywriter, entrepreneur, business owner, or anyone else on this planet who needs to get things done. Ben and I riffed about all kinds of things. If you’d like to be a “fly on the wall” as two veteran copywriters talk shop, this will be fun.

“Living the dream as a copywriter”

This is a fun call.

You’ll especially find it interesting if you’re an aspiring copywriter, but everyone in marketing should tune in.

Ben Settle is a SUPERB copywriter and a great educator on the subject.

He breaks down what it takes to write great ad copy as well as anyone I know and his book “The Copywriting Grab Bag” is one of my all-time favorites that I always like to have close by.

This was one of our more unstructured calls. More like two veterans talking about marketing over a few drinks at the bar than a finely choreographed interview.

It’s a great way to unwind after a long week – and still fire up a few new marketing brain cells in the process.

The truth is direct response is a copwriter’s game.

Over and over again, great copy has turned weakly performing businesses into superstars.

It’s the most powerful point of leverage in business I know of… where a relatively small investment of know-how and effort can literally produce hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions, of dollars in extra sales.

How do you get smarts like these?

One way is to hang out with copywriters who have figured it out.

Here’s your chance to pull up a chair and eavesdrop on two pros talking shop…
